¹Ve RAB Musa'ya şöyle diyerek seslendi:

²"Harun'a söyle ve ona de ki: Kandilleri yerleştireceğin zaman, yedi kandil şamdanın ön yüzünün karşısındaki taraftan ışık saçsın."

³Harun da böyle yaptı; RAB'bin Musa'ya buyurduğu gibi, şamdanın ön yüzünün karşısındaki o tek taraftan kandillerini yaktı.

⁴Şamdanın yapısı ise şöyleydi: Gövdesi ve üzerindeki zambak motifleri de dahil olmak üzere bütünüyle som altındandı; RAB'bin Musa'ya gösterdiği örneğe göre şamdanı aynen öyle yaptı.

⁵Ve RAB Musa'ya şöyle diyerek seslendi:

⁶"Levilileri İsrailoğulları'nın arasından al ve onları kutsal kılmak üzere arındır.

⁷Onları arındırmak için şöyle yapacaksın: Üzerlerine arınma suyu serp; bedenlerinin her yerinden ustura geçsin, giysilerini yıkasınlar ve böylece temiz olsunlar.

⁸Sonra sığırlardan bir boğa alsınlar; bunun tahıl sunusu olarak da zeytinyağıyla yoğrulmuş ince un alsınlar. Günah sunusu için de sığırlardan bir yaşında başka bir boğa alacaksın.

⁹Levilileri Tanıklık Çadırı'nın önüne getireceksin ve İsrailoğulları'nın bütün topluluğunu bir araya toplayacaksın.

¹⁰Levilileri RAB'bin huzuruna getireceksin ve İsrailoğulları ellerini Levililerin üzerine koyacaklar.

¹¹Harun, Levilileri İsrailoğulları'nın adına RAB'bin huzurunda bir armağan olarak ayıracak; öyle ki, RAB'bin işlerini yerine getirmeye hazır olsunlar.

¹²Levililer ise ellerini boğaların başları üzerine koyacaklar; onlardan birini günah sunusu, diğerini de kendileri için kefaret etmek amacıyla RAB'be yakmalık sunu olarak sunacaksın.

¹⁹İsrailoğulları'nın Tanıklık Çadırı'ndaki işlerini yerine getirmeleri ve İsrailoğulları için kefaret etmeleri amacıyla, Levilileri İsrailoğulları'nın arasından Harun'a ve oğullarına verilmiş birer armağan olarak teslim ettim; öyle ki, İsrailoğulları kutsal şeylere yaklaştıklarında aralarında bir felaket olmasın.

²⁰Musa, Harun ve bütün İsrail topluluğu, RAB'bin Levililer hakkında Musa'ya buyurduğu her şeyi Levililere aynen uyguladılar; İsrailoğulları onlara tam olarak böyle yaptı.

²¹Levililer kendilerini arındırdılar ve giysilerini yıkadılar; Harun da onları RAB'bin huzurunda bir armağan olarak teslim etti ve onları kutsal kılmak için onlar adına kefaret etti.

²²Bundan sonra Levililer, Harun'un ve oğullarının önünde, Tanıklık Çadırı'ndaki tapınma hizmetlerini yerine getirmek üzere içeri girdiler; RAB'bin Levililer hakkında Musa'ya buyurduğu gibi, onlara aynen öyle yaptılar.

²³Ve RAB Musa'ya şöyle diyerek seslendi:

²⁴"Levililerle ilgili kural şudur: Yirmi beş ve daha yukarı yaştakiler, Tanıklık Çadırı'nın işlerinde görev almak üzere içeri girecekler.

²⁵Elli yaşından itibaren ise bu hizmetten çekilecekler ve artık ağır işlerde çalışmayacaklar.

²⁶Ancak Tanıklık Çadırı'nda nöbet tutmak ve düzeni korumak için kardeşlerine yardım edebilirler, ama ağır hizmet işlerini yapmayacaklar. Levililere görevleriyle ilgili olarak böyle yapacaksın."

¹ΚΑΙ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·

²λάλησον τῷ ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτόν· ὅταν ἐπιτιθῇς τοὺς λύχνους, ἐκ μέρους κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς λυχνίας φωτιοῦσιν οἱ ἑπτὰ λύχνοι.

³καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως ᾿Ααρών· ἐκ τοῦ ἑνὸς μέρους κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς λυχνίας ἐξῆψε τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς, καθὰ συνέταξε Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ.

⁴καὶ αὕτη ἡ κατασκευὴ τῆς λυχνίας· στερεὰ χρυσῆ, ὁ καυλὸς αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ κρίνα αὐτῆς, στερεὰ ὅλη· κατὰ τὸ εἶδος, ὃ ἔδειξε Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ, οὕτως ἐποίησε τὴν λυχνίαν.

⁵Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·

⁶λάβε τοὺς Λευίτας ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ καὶ ἀφαγνιεῖς αὐτούς.

⁷καὶ οὕτω ποιήσεις αὐτοῖς τὸν ἁγνισμὸν αὐτῶν· περιρρανεῖς αὐτοὺς ὕδωρ ἁγνισμοῦ, καὶ ἐπελεύσεται ξυρὸν ἐπὶ πᾶν τὸ σῶμα αὐτῶν, καὶ πλυνοῦσι τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν, καὶ καθαροὶ ἔσονται.

⁸καὶ λήψονται μόσχον ἕνα ἐκ βοῶν καὶ τούτου θυσίαν σεμίδαλιν ἀναπεποιημένην ἐν ἐλαίῳ, καὶ μόσχον ἐνιαύσιον ἐκ βοῶν λήψῃ περὶ ἁμαρτίας.

⁹καὶ προσάξεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ συνάξεις πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ

¹⁰καὶ προσάξεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι Κυρίου, καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ ᾿Ισραὴλ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τοὺς Λευίτας,

¹¹καὶ ἀφοριεῖ ᾿Ααρὼν τοὺς Λευίτας ἀπόδομα ἔναντι Κυρίου παρὰ τῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ισραήλ, καὶ ἔσονται ὥστε ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα Κυρίου.

¹²οἱ δὲ Λευῖται ἐπιθήσουσι τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν μόσχων, καὶ ποιήσεις τὸν ἕνα περὶ ἁμαρτίας καὶ τὸν ἕνα εἰς ὁλοκαύτωμα Κυρίῳ ἐξιλάσασθαι περὶ αὐτῶν.

¹³καὶ στήσεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι Κυρίου καὶ ἔναντι ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ ἔναντι τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀποδώσεις αὐτοὺς ἀπόδομα ἔναντι Κυρίου·

¹⁴καὶ διαστελεῖς τοὺς Λευίτας ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν ᾿Ισραήλ, καὶ ἔσονται ἐμοί.

¹⁵καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσονται οἱ Λευῖται ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ καθαριεῖς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀποδώσεις αὐτοὺς ἔναντι Κυρίου·

¹⁶ὅτι ἀπόδομα ἀποδεδομένοι οὗτοί μοί εἰσιν ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν ᾿Ισραήλ· ἀντὶ τῶν διανοιγόντων πᾶσαν μήτραν πρωτοτόκων πάντων ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ εἴληφα αὐτοὺς ἐμοί.

¹⁷ὅτι ἐμοὶ πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν υἱοῖς ᾿Ισραὴλ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπων ἕως κτήνους· ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ἐπάταξα πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου, ἡγίασα αὐτοὺς ἐμοὶ

¹⁸καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς Λευίτας ἀντὶ παντὸς πρωτοτόκου ἐν υἱοῖς ᾿Ισραήλ.

¹⁹καὶ ἀπέδωκα τοὺς Λευίτας ἀπόδομα δεδομένους ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα τῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἐξιλάσκεσθαι περὶ τῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ισραήλ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς ᾿Ισραὴλ προσεγγίζων πρὸς τὰ ἅγια.

²⁰καὶ ἐποίησε Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ υἱῶν ᾿Ισραὴλ τοῖς Λευίταις καθὰ ἐνετείλατο Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν, οὕτως ἐποίησαν αὐτοῖς οἱ υἱοὶ ᾿Ισραήλ.

²¹καὶ ἡγνίσαντο οἱ Λευῖται καὶ ἐπλύναντο τὰ ἱμάτια, καὶ ἀπέδωκεν αὐτοὺς ᾿Ααρὼν ἀπόδομα ἔναντι Κυρίου, καὶ ἐξιλάσατο περὶ αὐτῶν ᾿Ααρὼν ἀφαγνίσασθαι αὐτούς.

²²καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσῆλθον οἱ Λευῖται λειτουργεῖν τὴν λειτουργίαν αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἔναντι ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ ἔναντι τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ· καθὰ συνέταξε Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν, οὕτως ἐποίησαν αὐτοῖς.

²³Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·

²⁴τοῦτό ἐστι τὸ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν· ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω εἰσελεύσονται ἐνεργεῖν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου·

²⁵καὶ ἀπὸ πεντηκονταετοῦς ἀποστήσεται ἀπὸ τῆς λειτουργίας καὶ οὐκ ἐργᾶται ἔτι.

²⁶καὶ λειτουργήσει ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου φυλάσσειν φυλακάς, ἔργα δὲ οὐκ ἐργᾶται. οὕτως ποιήσεις τοῖς Λευίταις ἐν ταῖς φυλακαῖς αὐτῶν.

¹And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

²Speak to Aaron, and thou shalt say to him, Whenever thou shalt set the lamps in order, the seven lamps shall give light opposite the candlestick.

³And Aaron did so: on one side opposite the candlestick he lighted its lamps, as the Lord appointed Moses.

⁴And this [is] the construction of the candlestick: [it is] solid, golden-- its stem, and its lilies-- all solid: according to the pattern which the Lord shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

⁵And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

⁶Take the Levites out of the midst of the children of Israel, and thou shalt purify them.

⁷And thus shalt thou perform their purification: thou shalt sprinkle them with water of purification, and a razor shall come upon the whole of their body, and they shall wash their garments, and shall be clean.

⁸And they shall take one calf of the herd, and its meat-offering, fine flour mingled with oil: and thou shalt take a calf of a year old of the herd for a sin-offering.

⁹And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of witness; and thou shalt assemble all the congregation of the sons of Israel.

¹⁰And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord; and the sons of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites.

¹¹And Aaron shall separate the Levites for a gift before the Lord from the children of Israel: and they shall be prepared to perform the works of the Lord.

¹²And the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the calves; and thou shalt offer one for a sin-offering, and the other for a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord, to make atonement for them.

¹³And thou shalt set the Levites before the Lord, and before Aaron, and before his sons; and thou shalt give them as a gift before the Lord.

¹⁴And thou shalt separate the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and they shall be mine.

¹⁵And afterwards the Levites shall go in to perform the works of the tabernacle of witness; and thou shalt purify them, and present them before the Lord.

¹⁶For these are given to me for a present out of the midst of the children of Israel: I have taken them to myself instead of all the first-born of the sons of Israel that open every womb.

¹⁷For every first-born among the children of Israel [is] mine, whether of man or beast: in the day in which I smote every first-born in the land of Egypt, I sanctified them to myself.

¹⁸And I took the Levites in the place of every first-born among the children of Israel.

¹⁹And I gave the Levites presented as a gift to Aaron and his sons out of the midst of the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of witness, and to make atonement for the children of Israel: thus there shall be none among the sons of Israel to draw nigh to the holy things.

²⁰And Moses and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites as the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the sons of Israel did to them.

²¹So the Levites purified themselves and washed their garments; and Aaron presented them as a gift before the Lord, and Aaron made atonement for them to purify them.

²²And afterwards the Levites went in to minister in their service in the tabernacle of witness before Aaron, and before his sons; as the Lord appointed Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

²³And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁴This is the [ordinance] for the Levites; From five and twenty years old and upward, they shall go in to minister in the tabernacle of witness.

²⁵And from fifty years old [the Levites] shall cease from the ministry, and shall not work any longer.

²⁶And his brother shall serve in the tabernacle of witness to keep charges, but he shall not do works: so shalt thou do to the Levites in their charges.
