¹Ve Rab Musa'ya ve Harun'a şöyle diyerek konuştu:

²"Levi oğullarının arasından Kehat oğullarının toplam nüfusunu, boylarına ve ata evlerine göre hesapla;

³yirmi beş yaşından elli yaşına kadar, Tanıklık Çadırı'ndaki bütün işleri yapmak ve dinsel hizmeti yerine getirmek üzere giren herkesi say.

⁴Kehat oğullarının Tanıklık Çadırı'ndaki görevi şudur: En kutsal şeyler.

⁵Ordugâh göçeceği zaman, Harun ve oğulları içeri girecek, gölgeleyen bölme perdesini indirecek ve onunla Tanıklık Sandığı'nı örtecekler.

⁶Üzerine sümbül rengi deriden bir örtü koyacaklar, onun da üzerine tamamen sümbül rengi bir bez serecekler ve taşıma kollarını yerleştirecekler.

⁷Huzur masasının üzerine tamamen mor bir bez serecekler; tabakları, buhurdanları, kâseleri ve sunu dökmek için kullanılan kapları üzerine koyacaklar; sürekli duran ekmekler de masanın üzerinde kalacaktır.

¹²Kutsal yerde hizmet etmek için kullanılan bütün hizmet takımlarını alıp sümbül rengi bir beze saracaklar, sümbül rengi deriden bir örtüyle örtecekler ve taşıma kollarının üzerine koyacaklar.

¹³Sunağın üzerine kapağını koyacaklar ve üzerine tamamen mor bir bez serecekler.

¹⁴Sunağın üzerinde hizmet ederken kullandıkları bütün takımları; ateş kaplarını, et çatallarını, kâseleri, kapağı ve sunağın bütün takımlarını onun üzerine koyacaklar. Üzerine sümbül rengi deriden bir örtü serecekler ve taşıma kollarını yerleştirecekler. Sonra mor bir bez alıp kazanı ve ayaklığını örtecekler, bunları sümbül rengi deriden bir örtünün içine koyup taşıma kollarının üzerine yerleştirecekler.

¹⁶Kâhin Harun oğlu Eleazar gözetmendir; kandil yağı, kokulu karışım buhuru, günlük sunu ve mesh yağı onun sorumluluğundadır; bütün konutun, içindeki kutsal yerin ve tüm takımlarının gözetimi bütün işlerde ona aittir."

¹⁷Ve Rab Musa'ya ve Harun'a şöyle diyerek konuştu:

¹⁸"Kehat boyunun oymağını Leviler arasından yok edip silmeyin.

¹⁹En kutsal şeylere yaklaştıklarında ölmeyip yaşamaları için onlara şunu yapın: Harun'la oğulları içeri girip her birini kendi hizmetine ve taşıyacağı yüke atasınlar.

²⁰Ama Kehatlılar kutsal şeyleri bir an bile görmek için içeri girmesinler, yoksa ölürler."

²⁵Konutun deri perdelerini, Tanıklık Çadırı'nı, onun örtüsünü, üzerindeki sümbül rengi deriden üst örtüyü, Tanıklık Çadırı'nın giriş perdesini,

²⁶avlunun çevre perdelerini, Tanıklık Çadırı'nı çevreleyen avlu girişinin perdesini, eklentileri ve hizmette kullanılan bütün takımları taşıyacaklar; bunlarla ilgili yapılması gereken her şeyi yapacaklar.

²⁷Gerşon oğullarının bütün hizmetleri ve taşıyacakları her şey, Harun'la oğullarının buyruğuna göre olacaktır; taşıyacakları her şeyi onlara isim isim belirleyip teslim edeceksiniz.

²⁸Gerşon oğullarının Tanıklık Çadırı'ndaki hizmeti budur; görevleri Kâhin Harun oğlu İtamar'ın gözetimi altında olacaktır.

²⁹Merari oğullarını da boylarına ve ata evlerine göre say.

⁴⁸sayılanların toplamı sekiz bin beş yüz seksen kişiydi.

⁴⁹Rabbin buyruğu uyarınca, Musa aracılığıyla her adam kendi hizmetine ve taşıyacağı yüke göre sayıldı. Rabbin Musa'ya buyurduğu gibi sayıldılar.

¹ΚΑΙ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν λέγων·

²λάβε τὸ κεφάλαιον τῶν υἱῶν Καὰθ ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν Λευί, κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν,

³ἀπὸ εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντήκοντα ἐτῶν, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν ποιῆσαι πάντα τὰ ἔργα ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

⁴καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ἔργα τῶν υἱῶν Καὰθ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου· ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων.

⁵καὶ εἰσελεύσεται ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ, ὅταν ἐξαίρῃ ἡ παρεμβολή, καὶ καθελοῦσι τὸ καταπέτασμα τὸ συσκιάζον καὶ κατακαλύψουσιν ἐν αὐτῷ τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ μαρτυρίου,

⁶καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὸ κατακάλυμμα δέρμα ὑακίνθινον καὶ ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν ἱμάτιον ὅλον ὑακίνθινον ἄνωθεν καὶ διεμβαλοῦσι τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς.

⁷καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν τράπεζαν τὴν προκειμένην ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν ἱμάτιον ὁλοπόρφυρον καὶ τὰ τρυβλία καὶ τὰς θυΐσκας καὶ τοὺς κυάθους καὶ τὰ σπονδεῖα, ἐν οἷς σπένδει, καὶ οἱ ἄρτοι οἱ διαπαντὸς ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἔσονται.

⁸καὶ ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν ἱμάτιον κόκκινον καὶ καλύψουσιν αὐτὴν καλύμματι δερματίνῳ ὑακινθίνῳ καὶ διεμβαλοῦσι δι’ αὐτῆς τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς.

⁹καὶ λήψονται ἱμάτιον ὑακίνθινον καὶ καλύψουσι τὴν λυχνίαν τὴν φωτίζουσαν καὶ τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς καὶ τὰς λαβίδας αὐτῆς καὶ τὰς ἐπαρυστρίδας αὐτῆς καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀγγεῖα τοῦ ἐλαίου, οἷς λειτουργοῦσιν ἐν αὐτοῖς,

¹⁰καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῆς εἰς κάλυμμα δερμάτινον ὑακίνθινον καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν αὐτὴν ἐπ’ ἀναφορέων.

¹¹καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χρυσοῦν ἐπικαλύψουσιν ἱμάτιον ὑακίνθινον καὶ καλύψουσιν αὐτὸ καλύμματι δερματίνῳ ὑακινθίνῳ καὶ διεμβαλοῦσι τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς αὐτοῦ.

¹²καὶ λήψονται πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ λειτουργικά, ὅσα λειτουργοῦσιν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις, καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν εἰς ἱμάτιον ὑακίνθινον καὶ καλύψουσιν αὐτὰ καλύμματι δερματίνῳ ὑακινθίνῳ καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν ἐπὶ ἀναφορεῖς.

¹³καὶ τὸν καλυπτῆρα ἐπιθήσει ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἐπικαλύψουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὸ ἱμάτιον ὁλοπόρφυρον.

¹⁴καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὸ πάντα τὰ σκεύη, ὅσοις λειτουργοῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτῷ ἐν αὐτοῖς, καὶ τὰ πυρεῖα καὶ τὰς κρεάγρας καὶ τὰς φιάλας καὶ τὸν καλυπτῆρα καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου· καὶ ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὸ κάλυμμα δερμάτινον ὑακίνθινον, καὶ διεμβαλοῦσι τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς αὐτοῦ· καὶ λήψονται ἱμάτιον πορφυροῦν καὶ συγκαλύψουσι τὸν λουτῆρα καὶ τὴν βάσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν αὐτὰ εἰς κάλυμμα δερμάτινον ὑακίνθινον καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν ἐπὶ ἀναφορεῖς.

¹⁵καὶ συντελέσουσιν ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καλύπτοντες τὰ ἅγια καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια ἐν τῷ ἐξαίρειν τὴν παρεμβολήν, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσονται υἱοὶ Καὰθ αἴρειν καὶ οὐχ ἅψονται τῶν ἁγίων, ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνωσι· ταῦτα ἀροῦσιν οἱ υἱοὶ Καὰθ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

¹⁶ἐπίσκοπος ᾿Ελεάζαρ υἱὸς ᾿Ααρὼν τοῦ ἱερέως· τὸ ἔλαιον τοῦ φωτὸς καὶ τὸ θυμίαμα τῆς συνθέσεως καὶ ἡ θυσία ἡ καθ’ ἡμέραν καὶ τὸ ἔλαιον τῆς χρίσεως, ἡ ἐπισκοπὴ ὅλης τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν αὐτῇ ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ, ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔργοις.

¹⁷καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν λέγων·

¹⁸μὴ ὀλοθρεύσητε τῆς φυλῆς τὸν δῆμον τὸν Καὰθ ἐκ μέσου τῶν Λευιτῶν·

¹⁹τοῦτο ποιήσατε αὐτοῖς καὶ ζήσονται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσι, προσπορευομένων αὐτῶν πρὸς τὰ ἅγια τῶν ἁγίων· ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ προσπορευέσθωσαν καὶ καταστήσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἕκαστον κατὰ τὴν ἀναφορὰν αὐτοῦ,

²⁰καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθωσιν ἰδεῖν ἐξάπινα τὰ ἅγια καὶ ἀποθανοῦνται.

²¹καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·

²²λάβε τὴν ἀρχὴν τῶν υἱῶν Γεδσών, καὶ τούτους κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν, κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν,

²³ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς ἐπίσκεψαι αὐτούς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν καὶ ποιεῖν τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

²⁴αὕτη ἡ λειτουργία τοῦ δήμου τοῦ Γεδσών, λειτουργεῖν καὶ αἴρειν·

²⁵καὶ ἀρεῖ τὰς δέρρεις τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ τὸ κάλυμμα αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ κατακάλυμμα τὸ ὑακίνθινον τὸ ὂν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἄνωθεν καὶ τὸ κάλυμμα τῆς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου

²⁶καὶ τὰ ἱστία τῆς αὐλῆς, ὅσα ἐπὶ τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ τὰ περισσὰ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ λειτουργικά, ὅσα λειτουργοῦσιν ἐν αὐτοῖς, ποιήσουσι.

²⁷κατὰ στόμα ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ ἔσται ἡ λειτουργία τῶν υἱῶν Γεδσὼν κατὰ πάσας τὰς λειτουργίας αὐτῶν καὶ κατὰ πάντα τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν· καὶ ἐπισκέψῃ αὐτοὺς ἐξ ὀνόματος πάντα τὰ ἀρτὰ ὑπ’ αὐτῶν.

²⁸αὕτη ἡ λειτουργία τῶν υἱῶν Γεδσὼν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ ἡ φυλακὴ αὐτῶν ἐν χειρὶ ᾿Ιθάμαρ τοῦ υἱοῦ ᾿Ααρὼν τοῦ ἱερέως.

²⁹οἱ υἱοὶ Μεραρὶ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν ἐπισκέψασθε αὐτούς,

³⁰ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς ἐπισκέψασθε αὐτούς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν τὰ ἔργα τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

³¹καὶ ταῦτα τὰ φυλάγματα τῶν αἰρομένων ὑπ’ αὐτῶν κατὰ πάντα τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου· τὰς κεφαλίδας τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ τοὺς μοχλοὺς καὶ τοὺς στύλους αὐτῆς καὶ τὰς βάσεις αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ κατακάλυμμα καὶ αἱ βάσεις αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ στύλοι αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ κατακάλυμμα τῆς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς

³²καὶ τοὺς στύλους τῆς αὐλῆς κύκλῳ, καὶ αἱ βάσεις αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς στύλους τοῦ καταπετάσματος τῆς πύλης τῆς αὐλῆς, καὶ τὰς βάσεις αὐτῶν, καὶ τοὺς πασσάλους αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς κάλους αὐτῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ λειτουργήματα αὐτῶν, ἐξ ὀνομάτων ἐπισκέψασθε αὐτοὺς καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τῆς φυλακῆς τῶν αἰρομένων ὑπ’ αὐτῶν.

³³αὕτη ἡ λειτουργία δήμου υἱῶν Μεραρὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔργοις αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἐν χειρὶ ᾿Ιθάμαρ τοῦ υἱοῦ ᾿Ααρὼν τοῦ ἱερέως.

³⁴καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες ᾿Ισραὴλ τοὺς υἱοὺς Καὰθ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν,

³⁵ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν καὶ ποιεῖν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

³⁶καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ ἐπίσκεψις αὐτῶν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν δισχίλιοι ἑπτακόσιοι πεντήκοντα.

³⁷αὕτη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις δήμου Καάθ, πᾶς ὁ λειτουργῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καθὰ ἐπεσκέψατο Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν διὰ φωνῆς Κυρίου, ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῇ.

³⁸καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν υἱοὶ Γεδσὼν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν,

³⁹ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν καὶ ποιεῖν τὰ ἔργα ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

⁴⁰καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ ἐπίσκεψις αὐτῶν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν, δισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι τριάκοντα.

⁴¹αὕτη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις δήμου υἱῶν Γεδσών, πᾶς ὁ λειτουργῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, οὓς ἐπεσκέψατο Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν διὰ φωνῆς Κυρίου, ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ.

⁴²ἐπεσκέπησαν δὲ καὶ δῆμος υἱῶν Μεραρὶ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν,

⁴³ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος λειτουργεῖν πρὸς τὰ ἔργα τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου.

⁴⁴καὶ ἐγενήθη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις αὐτῶν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν, τρισχίλιοι καὶ διακόσιοι·

⁴⁵αὕτη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις δήμου υἱῶν Μεραρί, οὓς ἐπεσκέψατο Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν διὰ φωνῆς Κυρίου, ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ.

⁴⁶πάντες οἱ ἐπεσκεμμένοι, οὓς ἐπεσκέψατο Μωυσῆς καὶ ᾿Ααρὼν καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες ᾿Ισραὴλ τοὺς Λευίτας, κατὰ δήμους καὶ κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν,

⁴⁷ἀπὸ πέντε καὶ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω ἕως πεντηκονταετοῦς, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος πρὸς τὸ ἔργον τῶν ἔργων καὶ τὰ ἔργα τὰ αἰρόμενα ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου,

⁴⁸καὶ ἐγενήθησαν οἱ ἐπισκεπέντες ὀκτακισχίλιοι πεντακόσιοι ὀγδοήκοντα.

⁴⁹διὰ φωνῆς Κυρίου ἐπεσκέψατο αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ, ἄνδρα κατὰ ἄνδρα ἐπὶ τῶν ἔργων αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπὶ ὧν αἴρουσιν αὐτοί· καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν, ὃν τρόπον συνέταξε Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ.

¹And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

²Take the sum of the children of Caath from the midst of the sons of Levi, after their families, according to the houses of their fathers’ households;

³from twenty-five years old and upward until fifty years, every one that goes in to minister, to do all the works in the tabernacle of witness.

⁴And these are the works of the sons of Caath in the tabernacle of witness; it is most holy.

⁵And Aaron and his sons shall go in, when the camp is about to move, and shall take down the shadowing veil, and shall cover with it the ark of the testimony.

⁶And they shall put on it a cover, even a blue skin, and put on it above a garment all of blue, and shall put the staves through [the rings].

⁷And they shall put on the table set forth for shew-bread a cloth all of purple, and the dishes, and the censers, and the cups, and the vessels with which one offers drink-offerings; and the continual loaves shall be upon it.

⁸And they shall put upon it a scarlet cloth, and they shall cover it with a blue covering of skin, and they shall put the staves into it.

⁹And they shall take a blue covering, and cover the candlestick that gives light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its funnels, and all the vessels of oil with which they minister.

¹⁰And they shall put it, and all its vessels, into a blue skin cover; and they shall put it on bearers.

¹¹And they shall put a blue cloth for a cover on the golden altar, and shall cover it with a blue skin cover, and put in its staves.

¹²And they shall take all the instruments of service, with which they minister in the sanctuary: and shall place them in a cloth of blue, and shall cover them with blue skin covering, and put them upon staves.

¹³And he shall put the covering on the altar, and they shall cover it with a cloth all of purple.

¹⁴And they shall put upon it all the vessels with which they minister upon it, and the fire-pans, and the flesh-hooks, and the cups, and the cover, and all the vessels of the altar; and they shall put on it a blue cover of skins, and shall put in its staves; and they shall take a purple cloth, and cover the laver and its foot, and they shall put it into a blue cover of skin, and put it on bars.

¹⁵And Aaron and his sons shall finish covering the holy things, and all the holy vessels, when the camp begins to move; and afterwards the sons of Caath shall go in to take up [the furniture]; but shall not touch the holy things, lest they die: these shall the sons of Caath bear in the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁶Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is overseer-- the oil of the light, and the incense of composition, and the daily meat-offering and the anointing oil, are his charge; even the oversight of the whole tabernacle, and all things that are in it in the holy place, in all the works.

¹⁷And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

¹⁸Ye shall not destroy the family of Caath from the tribe out of the midst of the Levites.

¹⁹This do ye to them, and they shall live and not die, when they approach the holy of holies: Let Aaron and his sons advance, and they shall place them each in his post for bearing.

²⁰And [so] they shall by no means go in to look suddenly upon the holy things, and die.

²¹And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

²²Take the sum of the children of Gedson, and these according to the houses of their lineage, according to there families.

²³Take the number of them from five and twenty years old and upwards until the age of fifty, every one that goes in to minister, to do his business in the tabernacle of witness.

²⁴This [is] the public service of the family of Gedson, to minister and to bear.

²⁵And they shall bear the skins of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of witness, and its veil, and the blue cover that was on it above, and the cover of the door of the tabernacle of witness.

²⁶And all the curtains of the court which were upon the tabernacle of witness, and the appendages, and all the vessels of service that they minister with they shall attend to.

²⁷According to the direction of Aaron and his sons shall be the ministry of the sons of Gedson, in all their ministries, and in all their works; and thou shalt take account of them by name in all things borne by them.

²⁸This is the service of the sons of Gedson in the tabernacle of witness, and their charge by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

²⁹The sons of Merari according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, take ye the number of them.

³⁰Take the number of them from five and twenty years old and upwards until fifty years old, every one that goes in to perform the services of the tabernacle of witness.

³¹And these are the charges of the things borne by them according to all their works in the tabernacle of witness: they shall bear the chapiters of the tabernacle, and the bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and the veil, and [there shall be] their sockets, and their pillars, and the curtain of the door of the tabernacle.

³²And they shall bear the pillars of the court round about, and [there shall be] their sockets, and [they shall bear] the pillars of the veil of the door of the court, and their sockets and their pins, and their cords, and all their furniture, and all their instruments of service: take ye their number by name, and all the articles of the charge of the things borne by them.

³³This is the ministration of the family of the sons of Merari in all their works in the tabernacle of witness, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

³⁴And Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel took the number of the sons of Caath according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage;

³⁵from five and twenty years old and upwards to the age of fifty years, every one that goes in to minister and do service in the tabernacle of witness.

³⁶And the numbering of them according to their families was two thousand, seven hundred and fifty.

³⁷This is the numbering of the family of Caath, every one that ministers in the tabernacle of witness, as Moses and Aaron numbered them by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.

³⁸And the sons of Gedson were numbered according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage,

³⁹from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to minister and to do the services in the tabernacle of witness.

⁴⁰And the numbering of them according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, [was] two thousand six hundred and thirty.

⁴¹This [is] the numbering of the family of the sons of Gedson, every one who ministers in the tabernacle of witness; whom Moses and Aaron numbered by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.

⁴²And also the family of the sons of Merari were numbered according to their divisions, according to the house of their fathers;

⁴³from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to minister in the services of the tabernacle of witness.

⁴⁴And the numbering of them according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, [was] three thousand and two hundred.

⁴⁵This [is] the numbering of the family of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.

⁴⁶All that were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel numbered, [namely], the Levites, according to their families and according to the houses of their lineage,

⁴⁷from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to the service of the works, and the [charge of] the things that are carried in the tabernacle of witness.

⁴⁸And they that were numbered were eight thousand five hundred and eighty.

⁴⁹He reviewed them by the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses, appointing each man severally over their [respective] work, and over their burdens; and they were numbered, as the Lord commanded Moses.
