¹Atalarınızın Tanrısı Rab'bin miras olarak size vermekte olduğu ülkede, yeryüzünde yaşadığınız tüm günler boyunca yerine getirmek üzere muhafaza edeceğiniz emirler ve hükümler şunlardır:

²Miras alacağınız ulusların yüksek dağlarda, tepelerde ve her sık yapraklı ağacın altında kendi ilahlarına kulluk ettikleri bütün yerleri tamamen yerle bir edeceksiniz.

³Onların sunaklarını yıkacak, dikili taşlarını parçalayacak, koruluklarını kesecek ve ilahlarının oyma putlarını ateşte yakacaksınız; böylece onların adı o yerden tamamen yok olup gidecektir.

⁴Tanrınız Rab'be bu şekilde ibadet etmeyeceksiniz.

⁵Ancak Tanrınız Rab'bin, adını oraya koymak ve orada anılmasını sağlamak için kentlerinizden birinde seçeceği tek yeri arayacak ve oraya gideceksiniz.

⁶Yakmalık sunularınızı, kurbanlarınızı, ilk ürünlerinizi, adaklarınızı, gönüllü sunularınızı, şükran beyanlarınızı, sığırlarınızın ve koyunlarınızın ilk doğanlarını oraya götüreceksiniz.

⁷Orada, Tanrınız Rab'bin huzurunda yiyeceksiniz; siz ve ev halkınız, Tanrınız Rab'bin sizi kutsadığı ölçüde, el attığınız her şeyde sevinç bulacaksınız.

⁸Bugün burada bizim yaptığımız gibi, herkesin kendi gözünde doğru ve hoş olanı yaptığı gibi yapmayacaksınız.

⁹Çünkü Tanrımız Rab'bin size vermekte olduğu dinlenme yerine ve mirasa henüz ulaşmadınız.

¹⁰Şeria Irmağı'nı geçecek ve Tanrımız Rab'bin miras olarak size vereceği ülkede yaşayacaksınız; O sizi çevreleyen bütün düşmanlarınızdan rahata kavuşturacak ve güvenlik içinde iskan edileceksiniz.

¹¹O zaman Tanrınız Rab'bin, adının orada anılması için seçeceği yer burası olacak; bugün size buyurduğum her şeyi oraya götüreceksiniz: Yakmalık sunularınızı, kurbanlarınızı, ondalıklarınızı, ellerinizin ilk ürünlerini ve Tanrınız Rab'be adayacağınız her seçkin armağanı.

¹²Tanrınız Rab'bin huzurunda siz, oğullarınız, kızlarınız, erkek ve kadın köleleriniz ve kapılarınızın sınırlarında yaşayan Levili sevineceksiniz; çünkü onun sizinle birlikte bir payı ya da mirası yoktur.

¹³Gördüğün her yerde yakmalık sunularını sunmamaya dikkat et;

¹⁴ancak Tanrınız Rab'bin oymaklarından birinde seçeceği yerde yakmalık sunularınızı sunacaksınız ve bugün sana buyurduğum her şeyi orada yerine getireceksin.

¹⁵Ancak canının çektiği her an, Tanrınız Rab'bin her kentte sana verdiği bereket ölçüsünde hayvan boğazlayıp et yiyebilirsin; aranızdaki kirli olan da temiz olan da, ceylan ya da geyik eti yer gibi ondan birlikte yiyebilir.

¹⁶Yalnız kanı yemeyeceksiniz; onu su gibi toprağa dökeceksiniz.

¹⁷Tahılının, şarabının, zeytinyağının ondalığını, sığırlarının ve koyunlarının ilk doğanlarını, adadığınız bütün adakları, şükran beyanlarınızı ve ellerinizin ilk ürünlerini kendi kentlerinde yiyemezsin.

¹⁸Bunları ancak Tanrınız Rab'bin huzurunda, Tanrınız Rab'bin kendisi için seçeceği yerde yiyeceksin; sen, oğlun, kızın, erkek ve kadın kölen ve kentlerinizde yaşayan yabancı. El attığın her şey için Tanrınız Rab'bin huzurunda sevineceksin.

¹⁹Yeryüzünde yaşadığın sürece Leviliyi yüzüstü bırakmamaya ve ihmal etmemeye dikkat et.

²⁰Tanrınız Rab, sana söz verdiği gibi sınırlarını genişlettiğinde ve canın et yemek isteyip de "Et yiyeceğim" dersen, canının çektiği her an et yiyebilirsin.

²¹Eğer Tanrınız Rab'bin, adının orada anılması için seçeceği yer sana çok uzaksa, sana buyurduğum gibi, Tanrı'nın sana verdiği sığırlardan ve koyunlardan kesip kentlerinde canının çektiği her an yiyebilirsin.

²²Ceylan ya da geyik eti nasıl yenirse, onu da öyle yiyebilirsin; arandaki kirli olan da temiz olan da ondan aynı şekilde yiyebilir.

²³Yalnız kan yememeye kesinlikle dikkat et; çünkü kan candır, etle birlikte canı yememelisin.

²⁴Onu yemeyeceksiniz; su gibi toprağa dökeceksiniz.

²⁷Yakmalık sunularını sunacaksın; etini Tanrınız Rab'bin sunağının üzerine koyacaksın. Kurbanlarının kanını Tanrınız Rab'bin sunağının kaidesine dökeceksin, etini ise yiyeceksin.

²⁸Sana buyurduğum bütün bu sözleri korumaya, dinlemeye ve yerine getirmeye dikkat et; öyle ki, Tanrınız Rab'bin huzurunda hoş ve güzel olanı yaptığında, sana ve senden sonraki çocuklarına sonsuza dek iyilik gelsin.

²⁹Tanrınız Rab, topraklarını miras almak üzere gideceğiniz ulusları önünüzden yok ettiğinde, onları miras alıp ülkelerinde yaşadığınızda,

³⁰onlar önünden yok edildikten sonra, "Bu uluslar ilahlarına nasıl tapıyorlarsa, ben de öyle yapacağım" diyerek onların ardına düşüp taklit etmeye çalışmaktan sakın.

³¹Tanrına bu şekilde yapmayacaksınız; çünkü onlar ilahlarına tapınırken Rab'bin nefret ettiği her türlü iğrençliği yaptılar; hatta oğullarını ve kızlarını ilahları için ateşte yakıyorlar.

¹ΚΑΙ ταῦτα τὰ προστάγματα καὶ αἱ κρίσεις, ἃς φυλάξετε τοῦ ποιεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ, ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν ἐν κλήρῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας, ἃς ὑμεῖς ζῆτε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.

²ἀπωλείᾳ ἀπολεῖτε πάντας τοὺς τόπους, ἐν οἷς ἐλάτρευσαν ἐκεῖ τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν, οὓς ὑμεῖς κληρονομεῖτε αὐτούς, ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων τῶν ὑψηλῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν θινῶν καὶ ὑποκάτω δένδρου δασέος.

³καὶ κατασκάψετε τοὺς βωμοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ συντρίψετε τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ἄλση αὐτῶν ἐκκόψετε καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν κατακαύσετε πυρί, καὶ ἀπολεῖται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου.

⁴οὐ ποιήσετε οὕτω Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν,

⁵ἀλλ᾿ ἢ εἰς τὸν τόπον, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεων ὑμῶν ἐπονομάσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐπικληθῆναι, καὶ ἐκζητήσετε καὶ εἰσελεύσεσθε ἐκεῖ

⁶καὶ οἴσετε ἐκεῖ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ θυσιάσματα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς εὐχὰς ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ ἑκούσια ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς ὁμολογίας ὑμῶν, τὰ πρωτότοκα τῶν βοῶν ὑμῶν καὶ τῶνπροβάτων ὑμῶν

⁷καὶ φάγεσθε ἐκεῖ ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐπὶ πᾶσιν, οὗ ἐὰν ἐπιβάλητε τὴν χεῖρα, ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ οἶκοι ὑμῶν, καθότι εὐλόγησέ σε Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου.

⁸οὐ ποιήσετε πάντα ὅσα ἡμεῖς ποιοῦμεν ὧδε σήμερον, ἕκαστος τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ·

⁹οὐ γὰρ ἥκατε ἕως τοῦ νῦν εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν καὶ εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν.

¹⁰καὶ διαβήσεσθε τὸν ᾿Ιορδάνην, καὶ κατοικήσετε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἧς Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν κατακληρονομεῖ ὑμῖν, καὶ καταπαύσει ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν ὑμῶν τῶν κύκλῳ, καὶ κατοικήσετε μετὰ ἀσφαλείας.

¹¹καὶ ἔσται ὁ τόπος, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ, ἐκεῖ οἴσετε πάντα, ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον, τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ θυσιάσματα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ ἐπιδέκατα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν καὶ πᾶν ἐκλεκτὸν τῶν δώρων ὑμῶν, ὅσα ἂν εὔξησθε Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν,

¹²καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν, ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες ὑμῶν καὶ οἱ παῖδες ὑμῶν καὶ αἱ παιδίσκαι ὑμῶν καὶ ὁ Λευίτης ὁ ἐπὶ τῶν πυλῶν ὑμῶν, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτῷ μερὶς οὐδὲ κλῆρος μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν.

¹³πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ, μὴ ἀνενέγκῃς τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματά σου ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐὰν ἴδῃς,

¹⁴ἀλλ᾿ ἢ εἰς τὸν τόπον, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου αὐτὸν ἐν μιᾷ τῶν φυλῶν σου, ἐκεῖ ἀνοίσετε τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμῶν καὶ ἐκεῖ ποιήσεις πάντα, ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον.

¹⁵ἀλλ᾿ ἢ ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιθυμίᾳ σου θύσεις καὶ φαγῇ κρέα κατὰ τὴν εὐλογίαν Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, ἣν ἔδωκέ σοι ἐν πάσῃ πόλει· ὁ ἀκάθαρτος ἐν σοὶ καὶ ὁ καθαρὸς ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ φάγεται αὐτό, ὡς δορκάδα ἢ ἔλαφον.

¹⁶πλὴν τὸ αἷμα οὐ φάγεσθε, ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκχεεῖτε αὐτὸ ὡς ὕδωρ

¹⁷οὐ δυνήσῃ φαγεῖν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσί σου τὸ ἐπιδέκατον τοῦ σίτου σου καὶ τοῦ οἴνου σου καὶ τοῦ ἐλαίου σου, τὰ πρωτότοκα τῶν βοῶν σου καὶ τῶν προβάτων σου καὶ πάσας τάς εὐχάς, ὅσας ἂν εὔξησθε, καὶ τὰς ὁμολογίας ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν,

¹⁸ἀλλ᾿ ἢ ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου φαγῇ αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ, ᾧ ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου αὐτῷ, σὺ καὶ ὁ υἱός σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου, ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος ὁ ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ὑμῶν, καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου ἐπὶ πάντα, οὗ ἐὰν ἐπιβάλῃς τὴν χεῖρά σου.

¹⁹πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ, μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς τὸν Λευίτην πάντα τὸν χρόνον, ὅσον ἂν ζῇς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.

²⁰᾿Εὰν δὲ ἐμπλατύνῃ Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου τὰ ὅριά σου, καθάπερ ἐλάλησέ σοι, καὶ ἐρεῖς· φάγομαι κρέα, ἐὰν ἐπιθυμήσῃ ἡ ψυχή σου ὥστε φαγεῖν κρέα, ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιθυμίᾳ τῆς ψυχῆς σου φαγῇ κρέα.

²¹ἐὰν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπέχῃ σου ὁ τόπος, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου ἐκεῖ ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ, καὶ θύσεις ἀπὸ τῶν βοῶν σου καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων σου, ὧν ἂν δῷ ὁ Θεός σοι, ὃν τρόπον ἐνετειλάμην σοι καὶ φαγῇ ἐν ταῖς πόλεσί σου κατὰ τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν τῆς ψυχῆς σου·

²²ὡς ἔσθεται ἡ δορκὰς καὶ ἡ ἔλαφος, οὕτω φαγῇ αὐτό, ὁ ἀκάθαρτος ἐν σοὶ καὶ ὁ καθαρὸς ὡσαύτως ἔδεται.

²³πρόσεχε ἰσχυρῶς τοῦ μὴ φαγεῖν αἷμα, ὅτι τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ψυχή· οὐ βρωθήσεται ψυχὴ μετὰ τῶν κρεῶν,

²⁴οὐ φάγεσθε, ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκχεεῖτε αὐτὸ ὡς ὕδωρ·

²⁵οὐ φαγῇ αὐτό, ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου μετὰ σέ, ἐὰν ποιήσῃς τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου.

²⁶πλὴν τὰ ἅγιά σου, ἐὰν γένηταί σοι, καὶ τὰς εὐχάς σου λαβὼν ἥξεις εἰς τὸν τόπον, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ,

²⁷καὶ ποιήσεις τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματά σου· τὰ κρέα ἀνοίσεις ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, τὸ δὲ αἷμα τῶν θυσιῶν σου προσχεεῖς πρὸς τὴν βάσιν τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, τὰ δὲ κρέα φαγῇ.

²⁸φυλάσσου καὶ ἄκουε καὶ ποιήσεις πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι, ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου δι᾿ αἰῶνος, ἐὰν ποιήσῃς τὸ ἀρεστὸν καὶ τὸ καλὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου.

²⁹᾿Εὰν δὲ ἐξολοθρεύσῃ Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου τὰ ἔθνη, εἰς οὓς εἰσπορεύῃ ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν, ἀπὸ προσώπου σου καὶ κατακληρονομήσῃς αὐτήν, καὶ κατοικήσῃς ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν,

³⁰πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ, μὴ ἐκζητήσῃς ἐπακολουθῆσαι αὐτοῖς μετὰ τὸ ἐξολοθρευθῆναι αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου σου λέγων· πῶς ποιοῦσι τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν, ποιήσω κἀγώ.

³¹οὐ ποιήσεις οὕτω τῷ Θεῷ σου· τὰ γὰρ βδελύγματα Κυρίου, ἃ ἐμίσησεν, ἐποίησαν ἐν τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν, ὅτι τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτῶν κατακαίουσιν ἐν πυρὶ τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν.

¹And these [are] the ordinances and the judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives you for an inheritance, all the days which ye live upon the land.

²Ye shall utterly destroy all the places in which they served their gods, whose [land] ye inherit, on the high mountains and on the hills, and under the thick tree.

³And ye shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their groves, and ye shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods, and ye shall abolish their name out of that place.

⁴Ye shall not do so to the Lord your God.

⁵But in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose in one of your cities to name his name there, and to be called upon, ye shall even seek [him] out and go thither.

⁶And ye shall carry thither your whole-burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your first-fruits, and your vowed-offerings, and your freewill-offerings, and your offerings of thanksgiving, the first-born of your herds, and of your flocks.

⁷And ye shall eat there before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all the things on which ye shall lay your hand, ye and your houses, as the Lord your God has blessed you.

⁸Ye shall not do altogether as we do here to-day, every man that which is pleasing in his own sight.

⁹For hitherto ye have not arrived at the rest and the inheritance, which the Lord our God gives you.

¹⁰And ye shall go over Jordan, and shall dwell in the land, which the Lord our God takes as an inheritance for you; and he shall give you rest from all your enemies round about, and ye shall dwell safely.

¹¹And there shall be a place which the Lord thy God shall choose for his name to be called there, thither shall ye bring all things that I order you to-day; your whole-burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and every choice gift of yours, whatsoever ye shall vow to the Lord your God.

¹²And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is at your gates; because he has no portion or inheritance with you.

¹³Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy whole-burnt-offerings in any place which thou shalt see;

¹⁴save in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, in one of thy tribes, there shall ye offer your whole-burnt-offerings, and there shalt thou do all things whatsoever I charge thee this day.

¹⁵But thou shalt kill according to all thy desire, and shalt eat flesh according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he has given thee in every city; the unclean that is within thee and the clean shall eat it on equal terms, as the doe or the stag.

¹⁶Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it out on the ground as water.

¹⁷Thou shalt not be able to eat in thy cities the tithe of thy corn, and of thy wine, and of thine oil, the first-born of thine herd and of thy flock, and all [your] vows as many as ye shall have vowed, and your thank-offerings, and the first-fruits of thine hands.

¹⁸But before the Lord thy God thou shalt eat it, in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose for himself, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the stranger that is within thy gates; and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, on whatsoever thou shalt lay thine hand.

¹⁹Take heed to thyself that thou do not desert the Levite all the time that thou livest upon the earth.

²⁰And if the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy borders, as he said to thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh; if thy soul should desire to eat flesh, thou shalt eat flesh according to all the desire of thy soul.

²¹And if the place be far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose for himself, that his name be called upon it, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock which God shall have given thee, even as I commanded thee, and thou shall eat in thy cities according to the desire of thy soul.

²²As the doe and the stag are eaten, so shalt thou eat it; the unclean in thee and the clean shall eat it in like manner.

²³Take diligent heed that thou eat no blood, for blood [is] the life of it; the life shall not be eaten with the flesh.

²⁴Ye shall not eat [it]; ye shall pour it out on the ground as water.

²⁵Thou shalt not eat it, that it may be well with thee and with thy sons after thee, if thou shalt do that which is good and pleasing before the Lord thy God.

²⁶But thou shalt take thy holy things, if thou hast any, and thy vowed-offerings, and come to the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to have his name named upon it.

²⁷And thou shalt sacrifice thy whole-burnt-offerings, thou shalt offer the flesh upon the altar of the Lord thy God; but the blood of thy sacrifices thou shalt pour out at the foot of the altar of the Lord thy God, but the flesh thou shalt eat.

²⁸Beware and hearken, and thou shalt do all the commands which I charge thee, that it may be well with thee and with thy sons for ever, if thou shalt do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord thy God.

²⁹And if the Lord thy God shall utterly destroy the nations, to whom thou goest in thither to inherit their land, from before thee, and thou shalt inherit it, and dwell in their land;

³⁰take heed to thyself that thou seek not to follow them after they are destroyed before thee, saying, How do these nations act towards their gods? I will do likewise.

³¹Thou shalt not do so to thy God; for they have sacrificed to their gods the abominations of the Lord which he hates, for they burn their sons and their daughters in fire to their gods.
